Dance / Opera / Performances
Alex Kros was trained in Dance, Visual arts, Cinema and theater. These different disciplines allow
him to walk through the borders of visual arts and dance, creating performances that are open to
all kinds of audiences. His works are characterized from the strong images, fascinating lighting
atmospheres and delicate dance movements with versatility, fluidity and sharpness. Artistically, he
characterizes himself bipolar as his creations are sometimes hyperactive and sometimes
minimalist. He is exploring the limits of the human body and how it can transfer energy through
the movement and also through the stillness.
Born in Greece, Alex has a Bachelor of Economics, he studied dance at Greek National State
School of Dance (K.S.O.T) and Rallou Manou Professional Dance School (GR) as well as he has
an associate degree in Acting And Directing. Since 2014 his work and artistic vision has been
focused on the creation of multidisciplinary performances integrating dance, visual arts and
cinematic techniques.
In 2015 he was awarded as Best New Choreographer from the competition Les Lendemains qui
Dansent (FR) and his works has been nominated by Berner Tanz Preise (CH), Rotterdam
International Duet Competition (NL), No Ballet Choreographic Competition (DE), Machol
Shalem International Choreographic Competition (IL) and Le Grande Scène / Petites Scènes
Ouvertes. His projects have been supported by international theaters and organizations such as
Scène Nationale Dunkerque /Le Bateau Feu (FR), Centre Chorégraphique National Roubaix
(FR), EPCC LaBarcarolle - Spectacle vivant audomarois (FR), Choreographic Centrum
Heidelberg (DE), TROIS C-L - Centre de Création Chorégraphique Luxembourgeois(LU),
DeSingel (BE), C-Takt (BE) and have been staged at theaters and dance festivals in Belgium,
Cyprus, England, France, Germany, Italy, Korea, Luxembourg, Netherlands and Greece.
His creations have been produced by the Oldenburg Staatstheater (DE), Greek National Ballet
Opera(GR), Balleto di Roma (IT), Ballet Du Nord / CCN Roubaix (FR), La Verita Dance
Company (BE) and Conservatorium Mechelen (BE) among others.
